JOYFUL NOISE OFFERING - MAY 2023
The Joyful Noise offering for May will be given to the Wisconsin Rapids Family Center. The Center offers shelter and support services to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
Their mission statement is guided by the voices of those affected by domestic and sexual abuse. The Family Center provides confidential, culturally-competent, comprehensive services, with an emphasis on self-determination, and prevents the abuse by addressing its root causes through education and community involvement. |
Thank you to the Moravian Church volunteer group for filling the shopping carts for clients the week of April 3 through April 6. During those four days, 117 families with 283 individual members including eight new families were served. Our numbers continue to increase, and we could not serve without our church volunteers who help every 15 weeks. Rosemary Mooney is the organizer of your church volunteers.
Please continue to keep the pantry in your thoughts. We appreciate the donation of food, hygiene, money paper pages and egg cartons. Everything is valued.

Assistant Operations Manager

I would like to thank all those who helped make the Holy Week and Easter celebrations such a meaningful experience! Thank you to all who read for our services (Bob, Bill, Seth, Becky, Rosemary, Bonnie, Rhone and Diane), to all those who provided music (Karen, Jan, Elaine, trombone choir, adult choir, children’s choir), who did the tech (Seth, Mike, Milo, Kathy, Jody, Marilyn), and to those who coordinated/prepped/cleaned-up our breakfast (John, Joint Board, CEC, Wellach family, Voight family).* It was joy to be together again and the Spirit of God was definitely felt throughout!
*My apologies to any names that I forgot to list, my memory is not always reliable.

UPDATES - MAY 2023The Board of World Mission Announces Partnership with the Moravian Church in Northern Tanzania
In March, the Board of World Mission and the Moravian Church in Northern Tanzania (MCNT) signed a covenant signifying the beginning of a new partnership between the BWM and the MCNT Provincial Board. This covenant signing took place over Zoom and was a joyful occasion, with representatives of the MCNT Provincial Board, North American Provincial Elders’ Conferences, and Board of World Mission present. Through this partnership, we will work together to support and affirm building a Christian witness in each of our contexts. We hope to do this through collaboration, consultation, prayer, and information sharing. Much of the preparation for this new covenant was completed during an in-person visit in November of 2022 to Arusha, Tanzania, located near Mt. Kilimanjaro. Justin Rabbach, Executive Director of the BWM, and the Rt. Rev. Chris Giesler, Director of Mission Engagement, met with the MCNT Provincial Board, under the leadership of its president, the Rev. Isaac G. Siame. As of 2021, MCNT had 26 congregations, 8 outstations, 34 ordained ministers, and a total membership of 5,482. They hope to elect their first bishop at their provincial synod in November of 2023. The BWM looks forward to many years of partnership that will bring God’s grace and peace to the world. |
CLEANSING WATERS - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Additional volunteers are needed for our Cleansing Waters ministry. We have had some resignations and could use a few more volunteers.
When we have clients, two volunteers meet them at a laundromat and provide them with detergent, dryer sheets, etc. and plug the machines with quarters.
Please contact Elaine Voight at 715-421-9389 or the church office if you are interested in helping out.
